What FAA Part 108 Actually Means for Drone Buyers Right Now

FAA Part 108 isn't just another regulatory headline gathering dust. The proposed BVLOS rule aims to normalize Beyond Visual Line of Sight operations, covering operations, aircraft manufacturing, separation from other aircraft, operational authorizations, security, reporting, and recordkeeping. Per the fact sheet, Part 108 aircraft would need lighting and Remote ID. The FAA is also proposing permits for lower-risk ops and certificates for higher-risk ones.

This quietly changes the buying equation.
